NICOLOSI CATANIA RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS
Trecastagni small town of 10,000 inhabitants of the metropolitan city of Catania in Sicily, recalls his most important religious festivals: 13 June:
St Anthony of Padua;
Saturday and Sunday closest to July 16: feast of Maria SS. del Carmelo.
The feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel began with the solemn Fortnight from 1° to 15 July in the mother church. Day 16 July, mother church is the Holy mass during which are blessed with traditional "Dresses" or "Scapular".
On Saturday and Sunday closest to July 16 is the feast indoors. The statue of Maria SS. del Carmelo on the feretory, accomplishes a procession along the streets of the town making a stop at the shrine of the Holy brothers Martyrs. Characteristic is the matrix designed by Marian young Wagon; This is a plastic tank where they play animated scenes, from living characters (children), life and devotion to Mary of Mount Carmel.
15 August: feast of Maria SS. Assunta;
Last Sunday of August: feast of the sacred heart of Jesus;
Third Sunday in September: feast of Maria SS..
