LATE FISHERY OF LEONFORTE
The late fishing of Leonforte, called "September" is a fruit grown in Leonforte and the territories surrounding municipalities, whose late harvest, autumn, follows a particular cultivation technique. Cultivation and raccoltaLa main feature that distinguishes the fish farming at Leonforte is the practice of packing of individual fruits, still on the tree, starting from the second half of June. The fruit is naturally hedged in his bag of parchment paper that will accompany him until his complete maturation. This practice eliminates the need to intervene with pesticide products ensuring the production of fruits free of defects or imperfections. At harvest, which takes place in September-October-November, the petiole is gently rotating until complete detachment from the branch. The fruit is yellow, with red streaks, with a very sweet pulp, which lends itself to the preparation of jams and canned peaches.
