Grotta Mangiapane Mount Hood in Custonaci Trapani


The mount Cofano nature reserve, in the province of Trapani will take you to the discovery of nine caves called Scurati.
Among them the Grotto by name from the family that lived  from 1819 until years â 50;  is 70 metres long, broad 13 more big and deep 50.

The caves were already an ancient prehistoric settlement and a Speleological site.
Flint tools have been found, teeth and bones of animals, graffiti and rock paintings on the walls dating back to the Upper Paleolithic.

Since 1983 there setting up the Nativity scene of Custonaci involving all the country's inhabitants. In 2006 has been recognized in the register of Intangible Heritage of Sicily.

Dâ summer becomes a living museum rebuilds the home and workplace of the rural village dâ  beginning 900.
