Piazza Armerina is placed on high mountains of southern Erei, in central Sicily, to almost 700 m above sea level and a short distance from Enna.
The city, among the major landmarks of the province, is wedged between dense and extensive mixed forests with a predominance of eucalyptus trees, which extend to his feet to the north and south. The municipal area of the city is one of the top 100 Italian municipalities for surface finishing in 37 th place with an area of 302 square kilometers, making it the second biggest city in the province behind the capital, and the seventh in the region.
