Santa Rosalia is celebrated on 14 and 15 July and 4 September in Palermo.
The 14 procession starts from the Royal Palace goes towards the sea and stops in front of the Cathedral and the Quattro Canti, where the mayor gets on the bandwagon and lays flowers at the feet of the saint, shouting "Viva Palermo and Santa Rosalia »; ends with the fireworks as soon as the procession arrives at the Foro Italico.
The 15 is the procession through the streets of città.Santa Rosalia is brought on a triumphal car, introduced in 1686, and there is a parade in historical costumes seventeenth century.
On September 4, instead there is the climb an hour walk, the devotees to the shrine of Montepellegrino.
