Empedocles


Empedocles (495-435 BC)

He was born in Acragante (Agrigento). Tireless scholar and deep intellect, was a philosopher, physician, botanist, architect, hydraulic engineer succeeding valiant in every science; distinguished orator, poet-celebrated by the ancients. Among his poems, and he noted that of the "Nature of Things" of which little remains today. They are remembered his theories in the works of Plato, Aristotle, Cicero and others.
